A politician is a fellow who will lay down your life for his country. - Tex Guinan

“Harry Reid’s announcement that he won’t seek re-election in 2016 has led to an outpouring of liberal praise for the Nevada Senator, but it isn’t clear why. The Senate Minority Leader has arguably done more than anyone other than President Obama to set up the Republican Party to run the government in 2017.

Mr. Reid’s admirers seem to think Mr. Reid is their champion, but the reason he has carried so much water for Mr. Obama isn’t liberal ideals. It’s the result of a crude political bargain in which Mr. Reid agreed to do the President’s dirty work on Capitol Hill if Mr. Obama blocked the nuclear waste repository at Yucca Mountain in Nevada.

The press has ignored this story since Mr. Reid became Majority Leader in 2007, despite a 2013 D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that exposed its lawlessness. (See “Harry, Barack and Yucca Mt.,” Nov. 23, 2013.) Mr. Obama installed Reid aide Gregory Jaczko as chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in 2009, and a year later he shut down the Yucca project.”

There isn't a law that current Democrat Leadership can't ignore if it benefits them. It's really that simple. Now, with the most lawless President in our Nation's history in bed with the most liberal Democrats in leadership ever, we witness the toxic combination of Government and cronyism corruption, and the American People are oblivious. How is it that Obama is working diligently so Iran can create a Nuclear Energy Grid (work with me --- WE know Iran is going for the Bomb, but Barry believes otherwise)? Yet, this same president and his head lackey, Harry Reid, stand firmly in the way of America moving to the next generation of and improving our own Nuclear Energy capabilities. Can you spell, hypocrisy? How about corruption? Harry and Barry can't be allowed to corner the market on corruption -

“The top Republican lawmaker on the House Science Committee issued a subpoena Wednesday to compel the Environmental Protection Agency to produce text messages and phone records for administrator Gina McCarthy.

“Because EPA has refused to provide a complete production of records in response to the Committee’s repeated requests, I am left with no alternative but to issue a subpoena to compel you to produce, among other things, unredacted cellular phone billing records and e-mails relevant to the Committee’s oversight,” Rep. Lamar Smith of Texas wrote to McCarthy in a letter sent out Wednesday.

Republican lawmakers have been trying to obtain McCarthy’s text messages and phone records ever since the agency admitted to a federal judge in October that the texts may have been deleted.”

Wow, Hillary doesn't stand alone in her arrogance and willingness to ignore the law! This is representative of the attitude career bureaucrats hold towards their employer, the American People. Perhaps the reign of Obama will result in some good if our fellow citizens open their eyes to the ignorance, defiance and total lack of respect that professional politicians and their cohorts in the Federal Bureaucracy regularly demonstrate. It's time we demand a return to law and order -

“Tuesday afternoon the U.S. Army officially announced desertion charges for Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who allegedly left his platoon in Afghanistan and was captured by the Taliban in 2009.

The United States Army announced this afternoon from Ft. Bragg, North Carolina that Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl will be charged under the Uniformed Code of Military Justice with one count of desertion with intention to shirk important and hazardous duty and one count of misbehavior before the enemy by endangering the safety of a command, unit or place. If convicted, the first charge of desertion carries a potential maximum penalty of dishonorable discharge, rank deduction, forfeiture of paid allowances and maximum confinement of five years. The second charge of misbehavior before the enemy carries a potential maximum penalty of reduction in rank, forfeiture of paid allowances, confinement for life.

Under the Uniformed Code of Military Justice, a preliminary Article 32 hearing has been scheduled and will be held at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas. When the hearing will take place will be announced at a later date. A court marshal for Bergdahl will be pursued. ...

... "Was it worth it? Absolutely," Psaki said, while denying the swap had anything to do with emptying Guantanamo Bay.”

This is unreal, unbelievable and pathetic. You'd think the Obama Administration would have enough honor to admit to the colossal blunder they made in swapping high-ranking terrorists for an Army deserter. We guess once you're a political hack, you'll always remain a political hack!

“The head of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) told members of Congress Tuesday that part of the agency’s involvement in Operation Choke Point was a “mistake.”

“Clearly there was misunderstanding with regards to the list, which was a mistake on our part,” Martin Gruenberg, chairman of the FDIC, said of the agency’s decision to create a supervisory list of 30 “high risk” industries that, in addition to highlighting a number of illegal or outright offensive enterprises like “racist materials,” featured legal merchants such as gun dealers and payday lenders.

But if it was a “mistake,” Republicans asked, why has no one been fired or held accountable?”

Another Kabuki-dance courtesy of career bureaucrats and our elected elite. They know there's a serious problem negatively impacting honest and law abiding citizens, but the Federal Government machinery remains on auto-pilot. What a shamm -

“When Congress passed welfare reform in 1996, the food-stamp program was spared. Nearly two decades later, its work requirements remain weak, and incentives to promote the purchase of healthy foods are nonexistent. House and Senate Republicans released spending proposals last week that aim to address these problems, which have been costly, and not merely in budgetary terms. ...

... Reversing course while President Obama is still in office is unlikely. Democrats tend to consider greater government dependence an achievement and use handouts to increase voter support. The president considers European-style welfare states a model for America. Still, Republicans are right to use their majorities to begin a national conversation on the nature of the food-stamp problem.

The public still views SNAP as the anti-hunger program that originated under John F. Kennedy in the early 1960s—even though it now operates more like an open-ended income-supplement program that discourages work. Some 56% of SNAP users are in the program for longer than five years, which suggests that the assistance is being used by most recipients as a permanent source of income, not as a temporary safety net.”

Anymore, Amerika --- there is nothing temporary about ANY entitlement programs designed to addict Amerikans to Big Government. Once all opportunities to exist through self-reliance are eroded through the lure of 'free-stuff', the Democrats are virtually guaranteed maintaining their power. It's true. Today, more so than at any time in our history, people vote themselves 'free-stuff' as promised by sleazy and disingenuous politicians -

“It's as if they were waiting, breathlessly. The moment Ted Cruz announced his presidential campaign, the national media proclaimed their horror. He was "brash," a "hardliner," an "uncompromising conservative," they warned. ABC anchor David Muir announced his agenda was the usual No list: "Promising no abortion, no gay marriage, no gun control, no IRS."

Apparently, there's no room for hope and change -- if you're a conservative.

Barack Obama owned the most left-wing voting record during his short tenure in the Senate. But when he announced his presidential campaign in Springfield, Illinois, on Feb. 10, 2007 -- arrogantly comparing himself to Abe Lincoln -- the networks warmly repeated that he pledged to be a "uniter" that was "promising a more hopeful America." They said he declared it was "time for his generation to end the cynical partisan politics of the baby boomers."

How does that look in 2015?”

Let's see; Barack Obama...refuses to compromise. Ted Cruz...refuses to compromise. Hmm ... What will mainstream media say about this?

“It was just a matter of time before Western governments used the trumped up "War on Terror" as an excuse to drastically ratchet up the very real war on the use of cash and personal privacy that they are waging against their own citizens.

Taking advantage of public anxiety in the wake of the attacks on Charlie Hebdo and a Jewish supermarket, France has taken the first step. It seems the terrorists involved partially financed these attacks by cash, as well as by consumer loans and the sale of counterfeit goods. What a shockeroo!

The terrorists used CASH to purchase some of the stuff they needed--no doubt these murderers were also shod and clothed and used cell phones, cars, and public sidewalks during the planning and execution of their mayhem. Why not restrict their use? A naked , barefoot terrorist without communications is surely less effective than a fully clothed and equipped one.”

Too far fetched to consider possible here in these United States? That's what everyone thought right before Democrat President Franklin D. Roosevelt confiscated all privately held gold. Desperate times call for desperate measures ... and since professional politicians around the world cause most world crises through through ignorant and short-sighted governance, we can expect next actions to entail desperate measures -

“The Justice Department is ordering bank employees to consider calling the cops on customers who withdraw $5,000 dollars or more, a chilling example of how the war on cash is intensifying.

Banks are already required to file ‘suspicious activity reports’ on their customers, with threats of fines and even jail time for directors if financial institutions don’t meet quotas.

But as investor and financial blogger Simon Black points out, last week, “A senior official from the Justice Department spoke to a group of bankers about the need for them to rat out their customers to the police.”

Assistant attorney general Leslie Caldwell gave a speech in which he urged banks to “alert law enforcement authorities about the problem” so that police can “seize the funds” or at least “initiate an investigation”.

As Black highlights, according to the handbook for the Federal Financial Institution Examination Council, such suspicious activity includes, “Transactions conducted or attempted by, at, or through the bank (or an affiliate) and aggregating $5,000 or more…””

Are you getting this, Amerika? Now, all the more reason to keep cash available on hand somewhere safe that you'll be able to access it in the event of unforeseen 'problems', or if the Federal Government decides to declare a State of Emergency for reasons that the balance of the Nation might not understand. Yes, we are suggesting that this is yet another example that the Federal Government is running amuck and must be reined in -

“Allison Deguisne, the owner of a small chain of Westshore Cash and Loan, says she will stop running the two-shop operation by the end of the month, and she blames federal government regulators.

Ms. Deguisne can’t find creditors to help keep her California-based payday loan business afloat.

The struggling entrepreneur tried to maintain her flailing company after Wells Fargo choked off her line of credit. She said she approached numerous bankers in search of financial support who told her on more than one occasion: “We don’t do business with people like you.”

Now, she is giving up on her small-business venture.

“My retirement is gone. I have nothing to sell of the business,” she said. “My retirement and my child’s education fund.”

Ms. Deguisne was one of several victims of a government-run program dubbed Operation Choke Point who went to Capitol Hill on Tuesday to describe how they have lost their livelihoods because their industry was placed on a high risk-list by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. Banks interpreted that listing as a warning not to do business with such enterprises, lest they be charged with racketeering, joint liability and other accessory offenses.

Some of Tuesday’s witnesses were gun shop owners, other payday lenders and one person who sold tobacco. All of them now are struggling to make it to their next paychecks.”

If this action by the Obama run Federal Government hasn't set your hair on fire, then it's time for some self-reflection! Who in the hell authorized the Federal Government to restrict private-sector legal commerce in the United States? Oh --- that would be Barack Obama, our resident 3rd World Despot -

“This was supposed to be a Congress focused on jobs and the middle class, but Democrats have quickly turned it into a fight over abortion, the thorniest of social issues, which has already derailed a bipartisan anti-human trafficking bill and now threatens to undermine a long-sought deal on fixing Medicare.

Under pressure from pro-choice groups, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid is balking at pro-life language designed to keep federal funds from paying for abortions in both bills, known as the Hyde amendment.

Hyde restrictions have been law for decades, but Democrats say they fear the GOP is trying to expand them to include other types of federal money beyond revenue collected from taxpayers, and to try to enshrine the restrictions into permanent law rather than the annual spending process.”

Gee, we must be dense. If the Hyde Amendment prohibits Federal dollars from being used to fund abortions, it would appear that the Democrats are once again playing fast and loose with the facts. If no Federal dollars are to be spent on abortions, how could the GOP be getting in the way of expenditures for Federally Funded Abortions? It would seem that the elected elite might have upheld the collective will of the People by prohibiting abortion-funding through Federal sources via the Hyde Amendment, but then must have created some workarounds that in fact allowed Federal funding of abortion (Planned Parenthood comes to mind). These bastards are ALWAYS trying to have it both ways and when caught, scream bloody murder. America, we have no effective political leadership at the helm and we are constantly being played -

“The Obama Administration often claims to be a careful steward of taxpayer dollars, and today’s punch-line is the collective $124.7 billion program called “improper payments.” That’s the Washington circumlocution for money that flows to someone who is not eligible, or to the right beneficiary in the wrong amount, or vanishes to fraud or federal accounting incompetence.

The Government Accountability Office reported the new 2014 figure last week, which is a $19 billion or 17.9% year-over-year increase. The overall error rate ticked up to 4.5% of outlays from 4% in 2013. Improper payments are spread across 124 programs among 22 agencies, but some 65% are concentrated in three areas.”

Just as soon as your gluteus maximus relaxes enough allowing your sphincter muscle to unclench, think about the waste and abuse of power that We, the People underwrite. Frankly, it's beyond nauseating -

“A top Obama administration official caved to political pressure to approve immigration applications from well-connected wealthy foreigners, ignoring warnings from career officers who said the investor visas should be denied, an inspector general concluded in a report Tuesday.

Deputy Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, whom President Obama promoted even while he was under investigation, meddled in three cases, creating “an appearance of favoritism and special access,” the department’s inspector general said in a 99-page report that stops just short of accusing Mr. Mayorkas of lying.

Inspector General John Roth said the cases involved major Democrats — former Pennsylvania Gov. Edward G. Rendell, Sen. Harry Reid, Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe and Anthony Rodham, brother of former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton — who made personal appeals for better treatment. In each instance, Mr. Mayorkas complied, often immediately after speaking with one of the well-connected Democrats.”

Rules? Regulations? Laws? Those are for the 'little people', not the elected-elite!

“The humiliating denouement to America’s involvement in Yemen came over the weekend, when U.S. Special Forces were forced to evacuate a base from which they had operated against the local branch of al Qaeda. This is the same branch that claimed responsibility for the January attack on Charlie Hebdo and has long been considered to pose the most direct threat to Europe and the United States.

So who should Barack Obama be declaring war on in the Middle East other than the state of Israel?

There is an upside-down quality to this president’s world view. His administration is now on better terms with Iran—whose Houthi proxies, with the slogan “God is great, death to America, death to Israel, damn the Jews, power to Islam,” just deposed Yemen’s legitimate president—than it is with Israel. He claims we are winning the war against Islamic State even as the group continues to extend its reach into Libya, Yemen and Nigeria.

He treats Republicans in the Senate as an enemy when it comes to the Iranian nuclear negotiations, while treating the Russian foreign ministry as a diplomatic partner. He favors the moral legitimacy of the United Nations Security Council to that of the U.S. Congress. He is facilitating Bashar Assad’s war on his own people by targeting ISIS so the Syrian dictator can train his fire on our ostensible allies in the Free Syrian Army.”

America -- do you see what that despot in the White House is doing? Take off the blinders, and stop listening to Democrat partisan talking heads. They DO NOT have America's best interest in their hearts or through their actions -

“They say that all politics is local, and a new poll suggests that when it comes to trusting their TV news sources, Americans feel the same way.

A new Quinnipiac poll provides the nation's opinion about various news networks and the degree to which Americans trust the news content they see and hear.

On the national level, liberals were aghast to find that Fox News ranks No. 1 as the most trusted source of news among the various national networks.

Of course, pundits were picking apart the crosstabs of the poll, trying to prove how the support for Fox came from Republicans and older viewers. But the fact is that Fox held very respectable numbers among independent and younger voters as well. And no, the poll was not unfairly weighted toward GOP-leaning viewers.

But there were plenty of news networks on the survey's list, and opinions were of course scattered all over. Perhaps the only other decisive opinion as to trust of national news networks was the relatively dismal level of support received by MSNBC. Perhaps Al Sharpton is not viewed as this generation's Water Cronkite after all.”

The evolution of news, and the changes are no where near complete! Now, if we can only get those that vote to become informed about issues and candidates, we'll be making big progress -

“A new report from the Census Bureau showed a total of 108,592,000 people were on some sort of means-tested government benefits program in the fourth quarter of 2011, yet only 101,716,000 people were employed full-time for the entire year.

A individual counted as a beneficiary of a means-tested program if they resided in a household where someone received benefits.

Means-tested benefits programs are the second-largest category of government spending. The government spends more on these programs than public education and defense spending.”

Amerika, we've crossed the Rubicon -

“It is fascinating to see brilliant people belatedly discover the obvious -- and to see an even larger number of brilliant people never discover the obvious.

A recent story in a San Francisco newspaper says that some restaurants and grocery stores in Oakland's Chinatown have closed after the city's minimum wage was raised. Other small businesses there are not sure they are going to survive, since many depend on a thin profit margin and a high volume of sales.

At an angry meeting between local small business owners and city officials, the local organization that had campaigned for the higher minimum wage was absent. They were probably some place congratulating themselves on having passed a humane "living wage" law. The group most affected was also absent -- inexperienced and unskilled young people, who need a job to get some experience, even more than they need the money.”

But the liberals and progressives get to feel good about themselves, afterall, it is the thought that counts -
