“No arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is as formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women.” - Ronald Reagan

Eight months ago, President Obama put on a grand show for the troops. Surrounded by new Secretary of Veterans Affairs Bob McDonald, assorted politicians, military leaders and a bevy of TV cameras, the commander in chief signed the "Veterans Access, Choice and Accountability Act." He's good at inking things.

Obama condemned the "inexcusable conduct" at VA hospitals across the country (and under his own watch).

He vowed to "do right by all who served under our proud flag." He promised America's veterans new "reform," "resources," "timely care" and an end to the disgraceful disability backlog.

The bill he signed, in case you'd forgotten, included $10 billion in emergency funding to pay for veterans to go outside the chronically dysfunctional VA system if they are facing long wait times or live 40 miles or more from a VA facility, plus another $6.3 billion to set up 27 new clinics and hire doctors, nurses and other medical staff.

So, how's it all working out?

Oh let us count the myriad of 'success stories' the Obama Administration claims....which, by any honest measure are ALL failures. The most incompetent Administration in our Nation's history, and our Veterans are paying the toll -

“What’s the point in telling the truth? Moreover, what’s the point in not lying? In many cases a lie will get you much further, much more attention, more money or power, so why bother telling the truth? Is the truth for suckers? ...

... Lying will get you stuff. It can get you attention. It can get you dates. It can get you just about anything you want if you’re good enough at it and willing to live the lie as long as you have to.

It’s even better if the lie is “the truth” someone else is desperate to hear. Tell people a lie they wish were true, and you’ll have a clear path to whatever you want.”

Without a doubt, Team Obama, mainstream media and all their liberal and progressive supporters adhere to the belief that it's not a lie, unless you get caught. Sadly, too few any more can even spell 'integrity', and if they could phonetically sound out the spelling they'd still be clueless as to its definition -

“Officer Slager has been fired. North Charleston Police Chief, Eddie Driggers, said he was "sickened" by the video. The North Charleston mayor announced that every officer will soon be wearing body cams (via AP):

A white South Carolina police officer who claimed he killed an unarmed black man in self-defense has been fired, the city's mayor announced Wednesday, a day after the release of a video showing the officer firing eight shots at the fleeing man's back.”

If you watched the video, you watched a shameful act of unnecessary violence. And, you saw the police officer also disturb the crime scene, mishandling evidence in an attempt to support 'his' version of events. Thankfully a bystander video recorded the shooting and the officer's actions. Not to jump to conclusions, but we really don't see anyway around the fact that the police office in question murdered an unarmed man -

“President Obama’s closed door meeting with leaders of the LDS Church in Salt Lake City last week once again left members of the press twiddling their thumbs. While journalists, print and all, assumed they’d have access to the meeting, the White House only permitted a few photographers to enter. After seven years of reporters being denied access to events they knew they had the right to cover, this was the last straw. ...

... To put it in perspective, President Obama’s administration is so ‘transparent’ it has set a new record for denying Freedom of Information Act requests.

... The Obama administration not only rejects access to documents, but often sidelines reporters on numerous occasions. In addition to the above mentioned snub, the president also blocked media coverage at a fundraiser at former Costco CEO Jim Sinegal’s Seattle home, as well as an historic meeting with Apollo 11 astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins.”

Yep, the most transparent Administration EVER! Just another lie like so many others -

“The American firearms industry is as healthy as ever, seeing an unprecedented surge that has sent production of guns soaring to more than 10.8 million manufactured in 2013 alone — double the total of just three years earlier.

The 2013 surge — the latest for which the government has figures — came in the first full year after the December 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, signaling that the push for stricter gun controls, strongly backed by President Obama, did little to chill the industry despite the passage of stricter laws in states such as New York, Maryland, Connecticut and California.

Indeed, interest in guns appears to be at an all-time high in California, which shattered its previous record for gun-purchase background checks last month, with nearly 200,000 processed, suggesting a vibrant firearms market in the country’s largest state.”

Yep, threaten our 2nd Amendment Rights, and Americans will come out swinging ... it's a beautiful thing!

“American hopes of opening an embassy in Havana before presidents Barack Obama and Ra?l Castro meet at a regional summit this week have been snarled in disputes about Cuba's presence on the United States (US) list of state sponsors of terror and US diplomats' freedom to travel and talk to ordinary Cubans without restriction, officials say.

The Obama administration wanted the embassies reopened before the summit starts in Panama on Friday, boosting a new American policy motivated partly by a sense that isolating Cuba was causing friction with other countries in the region.

Deputy National Security adviser Benjamin Rhodes said Tuesday the State Department's review of Cuba's place on that terror list is in "its final stages."”

"Obama: State Department Review Of Cuba Designation As State Sponsor Of Terrorism Using “Very Straightforward” Criteria. In an interview with NPR’s Steve Inskeep this morning, President Obama discussed the State Department’s review of its designation of Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism. Obama said, “The State Department will be reviewing it, and as soon as I get a recommendation, I’ll be in a position to act on it. Understand that the criteria is very straightforward. Is this particular country considered a state sponsor of terrorism, not, do we agree with them on everything, not whether they engage in repressive or authoritarian activities in their own country. And so those standards, those criteria are the ones that are going to be measured against the current activities of the Cuban Government. Overall, I think our goal here is what I discussed back in December, which is, do we have the ability to change the relationship of the United States and Cuba in such a way that it benefits the Cuban people over the long term? I think there’s a real opportunity here, and we are going to continue to make – move forward on it. Our hope is to be in a position where we can open an embassy there, that we can start having more regular contacts and consultations around a whole host of issues, some of which we have interests in common. There are areas where there are serious differences. And, you know, I don’t expect immediate transformation in the Cuban-American relationship overnight. But I do see the possibility – a great hunger within Cuba – to begin a change, a process that ultimately, I think, can lead to more freedom and more opportunity.”

…and yet no State Dept. decision on the Keystone pipeline. Unreal, unbelievable and pathetic -

“The pilot was locked out of the cockpit.

That phrase finally revealed the full horror of the crash of Germanwings flight 9525. Co-pilot Andreas Lubitz waited for the pilot to leave the cockpit, then locked the door to prevent his re-entry. After which Lubitz, for reasons unknown and perhaps unknowable, deliberately steered the jet into a harrowing 8 minute plunge ending in an explosive 434 mph impact with a rocky mountainside. 150 men, women and children met an immediate, unthinkably violent death.

Lubitz, in his single-minded madness, couldn't be stopped because anyone who could change the jet's disastrous course was locked out.

It's hard to imagine the growing feelings of fear and helplessness that the passengers felt as the unforgiving landscape rushed up to meet them. Hard - but not impossible.

Because America is in trouble. We feel the descent in the pits of our stomachs. We hear the shake and rattle of structures stressed beyond their limits. We don't know where we're going anymore, but do know it isn't good. And above all, we feel helpless because Barack Obama has locked us out.”

We can believe that as the passengers on the doomed airliner became clearly aware of their circumstances panic set in. Now, as more and more Americans are becoming aware of exactly the type of fundamental change Barack has in mind for America, concerns are being raised from more and more interest groups witnessing the damage our Nation is sustaining under the dark days of the Obama Regime -

“My liberal friends, all three of them, are up in arms over the Indiana RFRA controversy. As usual, their views on the issue are driven by emotion, not reason. That is because liberalism is not really a political philosophy. It is a stage of arrested emotional development. Since the Indiana RFRA controversy revolves around their core religion, which is the so-called gay rights movement, their emotionally laden “political” observations are not likely to subside in the near future.

Until then, it helps to understand what the current crisis in Indiana is really all about. Hint: It’s the same thing we were arguing about in the War Between the States. It’s also the very thing we were debating in the 1960s civil rights movement. It’s a thing called involuntary servitude. ...

... All of this nonsense about protected classes is utterly beside the point. One would never argue that a black baker should have to serve food at a Klan rally. Learning that a few of the Klansmen were not ordinary whites - but also homosexuals - would not change the equation one iota. The issue is still involuntary servitude.”

Liberals and progressives have never been accused of being rational -

“Humans are extremely adaptable creatures; so we tend to quickly acclimate ourselves to our circumstances until they become the "new normal." However, sometimes when you have a hole in the bottom of your boat, it's a better idea to try to address it than to just keep bailing water all day long. For example, here in America we seem to believe that...

1) The only religion it's okay to mock is the most popular one, Christianity: Roughly 80% of Americans are Christian; yet which religion is openly mocked by Hollywood and the mainstream media? ...”

Yeah, it is kinda hard to reconcile this -

“The Rolling Stone story about a student named Jackie who said she was ganged raped at a fraternity house at the University of Virginia is a textbook example of journalistic malpractice. Rolling Stone got just about everything wrong. For openers, there was no gang rape. The reporter didn’t even try to talk to the alleged rapists. And now, a review of the botched story by the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism concludes that Rolling Stone failed to engage in “basic, even routine journalistic practice.”

But something has been missing from the stories I’ve seen. We know that Jackie made the whole thing up. So shouldn’t there be outrage over the pain and suffering she caused? Incredibly, the editor of the article, Sean Woods says Rolling Stone was unfair – to Jackie.

“Ultimately, we were too deferential to our rape victim,” Woods told the Columbia University investigators. “We honored too many of her requests in our reporting. We should have been much tougher, and in not doing that, we maybe did her a disservice.” (Emphasis added)

Did her a disservice! Is this a joke?”

Yes...and not only is the Rolling Stone a joke, so is much of mainstream media anymore -

“Conservative activists pushing to amend the Constitution to rein in federal spending are preparing to delve into state legislative elections across the country, specifically targeting Republicans who are standing in the way of a convention of the states.

“Our attitude is if state legislators won’t stand against Washington, D.C., then they need to be replaced by somebody who will,” Mark Meckler, president of Citizens for Self-Governance and a leader of the state convention movement, told The Washington Times in an interview this week.

Mr. Meckler already has one target in mind: Virginia State Sen. Richard H. Black, a Loudoun County Republican who helped derail an effort in Richmond earlier this year to add Virginia’s voice to the states seeking a convention to rein in federal spending.”

It's hard to believe ANY Republican would stand in the way of a Constitutional Convention so necessary now to rein in an out of control Government ... but then again, there's not a spit of difference between Moderate Democrats and Moderate Republicans --- both factions are in favor of Big Government. We hope you will add your voice in support of a Constitutional Convention. It's past time for We, the People to take our Country back from the destructive Agenda of liberals and progressives -

“Wal-Mart, the nation’s largest gun retailer, is awaiting a verdict Wednesday to see whether it can continue to sell modern sporting rifles if enough investors think it’s a business the company shouldn’t be in.

Arguing that Wal-Mart’s willingness to sell high-capacity magazine rifles contradicts its promise to uphold community and family values, Trinity Wall Street Church in New York won its case in November, when the district court ruled shareholders could propose and vote on a resolution that would force Wal-Mart’s board of directors to review its gun sales policy.

Gun rights activists argue that the district court’s decision allows the church, which owns 3,500 Wal-Mart shares, and other political activists to push gun control via corporate policies rather than struggle to pass such laws in the electoral arena.”

We use this news as a catalyst to suggest to all members of the Trinity Wall Street Church in New York consider finding a church that's willing to uphold and defend our Nation's Constitution -

“The political delirium over Indiana’s law protecting minority religious beliefs doesn’t seem to be abating, and the irony is that it may be illustrating why such statutes are necessary. Much of the modern political left has abandoned the American tradition of pluralism in favor of an all-or-nothing social model that brooks no dissent.”

Americans need protection from the many Marxists that exist within the ranks of the Democrats --- all too often, they get lost in the shuffle of liberals and progressives -

“Nothing upsets progressives like disagreeing with them. Like children throwing a fit because they can’t get the toy they want, leftists become unhinged when confronted with a reality they don’t like.

The digital lynch mob that failed to destroy Memories Pizza is but one example of how progressives (liberals, Democrats, or whatever else they call themselves these days) operate now. But their irrational hatred stems from the insulated world we’ve allowed society to create for them.

Thanks to political correctness and leftists’ bullying tactics, it is entirely possible for people to live their entire adolescence and well into adulthood before they are exposed to contrary opinions. The “celebrate diversity” bumper sticker crowd is just about the most homogenous group on the planet when it comes to thought.

So, when members of the insulated class come across a contrary opinion, the advice spelled out so plainly on the back of their Prius falls by the wayside, and they revert to a hissy fit.”

It is beyond hope to have an educated or non-emotionally charged discussion with liberals or progressives. They cannot disagree without becoming very disagreeable -

“As the punch line to an old joke about lawyers goes, it’s a good start. The American Civil Liberties Union, theoretically a non-ideological defender of the Constitution but in practice increasingly hard left, is running into financial difficulties and just announced (memo to staffers here) layoffs for 7 percent of its lawyers.

Why the difficulties? It’s a little unclear, but Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit writes, “What I hear is that they’ve moved too far left, too fast, and it’s hurt their donations.” The organization itself cites something that happened 6 years ago in its memo – the ending of a $22 million annual grant from a family it does not identify, owing to their investment losses (presumably in the 2008 stock market crash). But six years is a lot of time to adjust hiring and other expenses to diminished income, not to mention scare up other donors.”

We can only hope that the decline in ACLU donations is a key indicator that Americans have caught on to this Leftist group and are now willing to see the organization for what it has become -

“Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback on Thursday signed a bill allowing Kansans to carry concealed weapons without a permit or training starting this summer.

The new law will go into effect on July 1, and will make Kansas the sixth “constitutional carry” state, allowing Kansans 21 and older to carry concealed weapons without a permit, the Kansas City Star reported Thursday.

But Kansans will still have to go through training in order to carry a weapon in any of the 36 states that accept Kansas permits. ...

... Mr. Brownback added that he believes carrying a gun is a constitutional right and should not require a “permission slip from the government.”

Brownback for PRESIDENT! Kidding --- but we do hail Governor Brownback and the Kansas legislature for joining Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Vermont and Wyoming for protecting our 2nd Amendment Rights as they should be in ALL 50-states!
